Happy Birthday! - The 1 st!

Author: ShealockMac / / Category: Apple News

The truth is that a year ago I did not expect to have almost a whopping 80,000 hits. I still remember the early days when one or another "heavyweight" of OSX86 looked out here and when we reached just saw the 20 visits per day, out the back door without saying goodbye. Later Ed_Saxman joined this project and everything changed radically. To him we owe thanks for the time and effort devoted to this project.

Over time there have been many users who have come and gone, but many others have stayed to share their knowledge, to publish what he learned and come back and learn how. To all those people: YOU!

We are a growing community and eager to continue doing things right. We hope to continue fulfilling years and learning together.

Greetings to all.

Just published the 10.6.2 update, and the new kernel does not like the presence of Sleepenabler.kext that many have installed in your folder "Extra", so to be safe to delete it to update. Fortunately, the teacher Netko has been rapid and has patched the file so we can continue using the Sleepenabler. You can find instructions on his blog (Thanks to Wybot for the warning)
Our partner Joty has opened a thread on our forum, as a survey for us to share our impressions of the update. In any of the answers will find a summary in Castilian of Netko instructions.

Note on ATI cards (netko read the thread for more info)

Users of ATI radeon 4830/4870 × 2 / 4890 must wait until a patch x2000.kext.

However, if you have a 4830/4850/4870 × 2 / 4890 can continue using the ATI4800Controller.kext as before.

- Work in Progress --

In most forums tutorials and guides can be developed by users, but rarely are the result of direct collaboration. In our forum we had the initiative to create a section for working with us, with the intention to develop community content, providing what each can either be tested, or actively collaborating on projects that are carried out. Threads that are currently engaged are:

- Project Snow Leopard Installer Pen: Explore with us the great potential of this method of installation.

- Edit your DSDT like a champion with DSDTSE: Guide to get started in what was the complex world of editing the DSDT, now much easier with this utility.

- GDI + +: adds functionality to your windows font rendering, like you're on Leopard.

- FAQ Apple OSX86: Same can be found at home.

- Snow Leopard Treasure Vault: A collection of links to resources on OS X. All sorts of kexts, utilities and drivers.
